March 11, 2017 : 7 hours of cycling with LA MACHINE FLEUVE at the Nuitnumerique festival in Reims (FR)

This Saturday, March 11, for NUITNUMERIQUE # 14 in Reims, Boris Filanovsky and I will embark on a long adventure with LA MACHINE FLEUVE. Instead of playing as a 60-minute concert with the audience sitting in his chair from start to finish, we will perform a long 7 hours performance !!!! The public will be free to enter and leave, and each one will be able to follow his itinerary between the different proposals of the festival.
I assure you, 7 hours of cycling, this is not exceptional and does not worry me in any measure. It's the time i take to do 130-140 km and I often ride for more than 200 km. No, what worries me the most is to do 7 hours of bike without moving, locked in a concert hall: no small birds to attract the eye, no wind to dry salted skin and especially neither curves nor reliefs that allow to play on the bike, to change position and rhythm. There, it will be necessary to be in charge all the time. You can not afford free wheeling, you have to pedal all the time and there are not many possibilities to change position on the bike. And despite my imperial saddle with central recess, I am very afraid of numbness in the perineum ....
In any case, it fits perfectly into the theme of the festival:
Kinεstezi or physical sensitivity and consciousness of movement.
This year, we question the notion of the body, its movements, or control and mastery. The journey of the digital night invites you to immerse yourself entirely in the works proposed. The body and its movements are at the center of the process of creation; It becomes a trigger or revealer of the work. Facing it, the spectator will be able to feel its intensity and the induced energy.
> LA MACHINE FLEUVE performance for 20 music boxes and 1 bicycle
> NUITNUMERIQUE# 14 Kinεstezi
> 11 March 2017, from 6 pm to 1 pm
